Documents & the Matter File
LiveEvery upload is a document with a category — agreement, evidence, court order, correspondence, identity — and the category decides what runs. Nothing is analysed unless you ask.
- ✓Closed categories: agreement, evidence, court order, correspondence, identity and more
- ✓Store-only uploads — no forced analysis, no scan used until you ask
- ✓Upload-only on single uploads, the phone's chunked upload and bulk ZIP
- ✓Identity documents never reach an AI vendor
What it is.
A document's category decides its processing: whether it is indexed for Vio, whether any of it may reach an AI vendor, and what analysis a person may ask for later. Only an agreement is offered contract review, and even an agreement can be stored without one — upload-only, on single, chunked and bulk ZIP uploads — so no scan is used until you press Analyse. Identity documents are never sent to an AI vendor: no chunks, no embeddings, no workflows.
Every upload passes the same accept list and virus scan and is recorded on its matter's timeline, which is how a matter becomes its own file. Retention is a number your organisation sets per category; when it passes, the document is purged and the purge is audited on the matter. There is no product default for identity retention, because a number would be a legal statement. Saved views are filters, not folders.
Three steps.
End to end.
Pick the matter and the category. Agreements can be stored upload-only.
Run contract review on an agreement, or order analysis on a court order, at the point you need it.
Save filtered views; set retention per category and let the purge run.

Quick answers.
No. Only an agreement uploaded for review is analysed. Everything else is stored, and analysis runs when a person asks.
No. The matter is the container; saved views are filters.
